(Thu, 02 Apr 2026) Taiwanâs gross domestic product grew by 5.3% in 2024, while its population declined slightly to 23.2 million people. Taiwan has very few domestic natural resources and must rely on oil, natural gas, and coal imports to satisfy most of its energy demand. It imported over 94% of its energy demand in 2024.
(Thu, 19 Mar 2026) We have released the first set of housing characteristics data tables for the 2024 Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) . These data include preliminary estimates on the structural and geographic characteristics of homes, types of electronics and appliances used within them, lighting characteristics, demographic characteristics, square footage, and household energy insecurity, as well as key estimates for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

We use these reports to develop modeling assumptions to inform our <em>Annual Energy Outlook</em> buildings projections.

A large producer of both natural gas and coal, Australia is a net exporter of energy. Around two-thirds of Australiaâs production is exported.
(Tue, 18 Nov 2025) Oil and natural gas production is a mainstay of Nigeriaâs economy: fossil fuel revenues are the countryâs primary source of foreign exchange and fluctuations in crude oil price affect its economy. However, Nigeria also experiences sporadic supply disruptions stemming from crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism. Since 2020, disruptions and reduced investment in upstream development have led to a significant decline in crude oil production.
